Greeby has recently been hired by Waterstone Properties to provide a full-array of Tenant Coordination services at Rock Row in Westbrook, ME.

Greeby Vice President Ben Wood (right), along with work.shop CEO Michael Greeby (left), recently taught a course at the ICSC University of Shopping Centers held at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Over 20 industry professionals took part in in the three hour course entitled Managing the Tenant Coordination Process and topics included how to create and manage a strong tenant coordination program built on the foundation of strong communications, respect for retailer expertise and innovation, efficient reporting and savvy construction know-how.
Greeby President, Gordon “Skip” Greeby, also was on the faculty staff at the University of Shopping Centers, leading a course entitled Project Management Principles and Practices. Topics included teaching the principles of choosing the correct project delivery approach, assembling the right project team, tackling contract issues and negotiations, scheduling, using the correct tools, fast-tracking techniques with an emphasis on quality, managing the change order process, mid-project problem-solving and troubleshooting, and avoiding the “goal line fumble” at project closeout.
Senior Tenant Coordinator Nina Mauritz will provide the full range of services, from Leasing Support to On-Site Tenant Coordination, on a variety of projects throughout the country on Taubman’s behalf. Nina previously worked with Greeby as Lead Tenant Coordinator at The Shops at Atlas Park, an open-air lifestyle center in Glendale, New York, as well as The Landing at Tradition, a Core Communities development in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
A publicly traded company since 1992, Taubman creates extraordinary retail environments for shoppers, retailers, communities, and investors. Their portfolio of United States regional and super regional malls, located in major markets from coast to coast, is the most productive in the nation, with 2013 sales per square foot averaging $721.
During our 34 years in business, new opportunities have continually presented themselves to Greeby. Many fell outside of our primary scope of services, but our desire to innovate continued to grow as our core business expanded.
One major core initiative – to write or revise retail centers’ Tenant Design Criteria Manuals – was a key shortcoming to the traditional paper/pdf based documents. Michael Greeby, Executive Vice President, could not find an existing industry solution that would solve the design, search, rich-media collaboration, and update challenges. With this in mind, he created one from scratch.
At the ICSC CenterBuild Conference in December 2012, Greeby announced the launch of the Digital Design Criteria Manual (DDCM). This web-based retail information delivery system integrates with existing systems and solves ALL the challenges by providing an elegantly designed, mobile enabled and completely customized information platform for ANY property.
As interest and contracts grew, more focused attention was needed to develop this new product, create other retail technologies, and pursue other entrepreneurial specialty retail clients. It was determined that a new company should be formed to operate collaboratively, but independently, in order to accomplish these goals. work.shop, led by Michael Greeby, was created as Greeby’s R&D department. It will deploy technologies to support retail industry and work with entrepreneurial retail businesses from start-up to completion.

Greeby was recently selected by the Arcturus Group to head Tenant Coordination efforts at Anaheim GardenWalk in Anaheim, California. Acquired by Arcturus in October 2012, GardenWalk is a 450,000SF open-air retail center featuring shops and entertainment venues such as 300, a themed bowling alley, and UltraLuxe Cinemas, along with numerous major national restaurants, including The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang’s, California Pizza Kitchen, McCormick & Schmick’s, Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
Senior Associates Mike Adachi and Rick Beason (pictured) will head Greeby’s onsite efforts on behalf of Arcturus. Mike previously served in a similar capacity for Westfield at University Town Center in San Diego, California after heading the Tenant Coordination department at Shea Properties. Rick, who heads our Southern California office, has been overseeing efforts in the region for AvalonBay and was previously Senior Development Director for the Macerich Company. It is our people that separate us from the rest.
Skip Greeby was in London visiting with our global strategic alliance partner, Sweett Group, where he made a presentation to their Board of Directors. Derek Pitcher and his wife, Deb, hosted Skip and Joan while in the UK and together they got to tour many of the famous sites in this historic city. After nearly a week, Skip was off to Stockholm, Sweden to represent Greeby at the ICSC European Conference.
